The BrookHouse embodies Wright’s philosophy of Organic Architecture, serving as a bridge where the home ends and the Idyllwild forest begins. We’ve positioned this luxury living space to perfectly frame the surrounding natural landscape, a technique often used in Wright’s most famous works.

Custom Built-In Sleeping Quarters
This two-bedroom layout is a highlight among Idyllwild vacation cabin rentals, featuring a private master suite with a king bed and a door for complete seclusion. In true Usonian fashion, the second sleeping area is a custom-designed built-in nook with a full bed—offering a unique architectural character often missing from standard pet-friendly home rentals. The living room, dining nook, and kitchen are down a small set of five or so steps from the front door. The living room has two large, cushy sofas and a lounge chair so there is plenty of room for everyone to cozy up around the statement ledgerock wood-burning fireplace or the 55″ flat-screen Roku TV with Bluetooth soundbar. There is also a plethora of board games for game night!

True to the Usonian philosophy of maximizing smaller footprints, our fully stocked kitchen is designed for both connection and efficiency. The open-concept layout allows you to prepare meals using the KitchenAid Stand Mixer while remaining part of the conversation in the living area. Even from the stove, you are just steps away from the natural landscape visible through the glass sliders.
These sliding glass doors do more than just provide access; they blur the line between indoor and outdoor living. I stay up in Idyllwild monthly, sometimes several times a month, and as such I've stayed at DOZENS of airbnb's up there. Kelly's place might well be my favorite home I've stayed in out of all of them. In large part because of that absolutely AMAZING gazebo!! The whole cabin is perfect, and cozy. Comfy couches, comfy beds, great deck and patios off each bedroom. I mean, you can't ask for more really...and of course Kelly was awesome and a wonderful host...but that gazebo is incredible. For a couple or a small group, this is probably the best place you'll find in the area. I'd HIGHLY recommend it for a couple, the place oozes romance.

Me and my pup came here for a much needed girl's getaway, and had the best time. Slow mornings, walk to town to get coffee, visits with the birds on the deck, yummy home-cooked food, good sleep...we wish we could have stayed even longer than we did. The home had everything we needed. As someone who likes to cook, it's always a treat to have pyrex, and all the cooking items I need. The bunkhouse was adorable, and made for great afternoon naps. The property is close to town, but tucked into a neat street where it feels more secluded. Highly recommended stay for anyone coming in the area. Thank you!

We had a great stay, so quiet and relaxing. The gazebo was a great place to hang out with the dog (he was very entertained by all the squirrels and woodpeckers).

Beautiful property. Went in the dead of summer to escape the heat and this place did the trick. We loved the riverside gazebo and hammock. The quiet sounds of the forest at night were heavenly. This will be our go-to spot when we come back to Idyllwild!
We had a wonderful stay! The place was beautiful, peaceful, and so relaxing. I especially loved how well-stocked the kitchen was — it had everything we needed, including cooking oil and all kinds of spices. It really felt like a home away from home. We truly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back again!

Wow, this is one the very best places my husband and I have ever stayed! The cabin is the definition of cozy and the screened-in gazebo is truly what forest dreams are made of. We spent our mornings bird watching on the balcony off the bedroom and then lounged in the gazebo all afternoon. This place really has it all... a comfy bed, a cute little breakfast nook, heaps of games to play, and it's very central to the center of town, but still has a tucked-away-in-the-woods feel. We were very bummed when it was time to go and we'll definitely be back!
Beautiful setting amongst the pines with birds ,squirrels and deer to see and enjoy. Very very lovely home with all the amenities. Quiet and serene. Will definitely head back to Idylbrook.

My husband and I have graduated from camping to glamping. We were joining our group who were staying in Idlewild Park and we appreciated the convenience of Kelly’s place to the park and the many many amenities. A minor problem with the coffee grinder was resolved pronto and Kelly and her staff were friendly and responsive. The place is such a peaceful getaway both my husband and I could imagine a writers retreat here.

Absolutely fantastic cabin, location, and host. We wanted a weekend of peace and quiet to get away from the big city, and this absolutely nailed it at a very fair price. The cabin has everything you might want, and the brookhouse outside was truly amazing. The entire listing is set up perfectly. I really couldn't have asked for anything to be different. Quiet, peaceful, yet still a short walk to downtown Idyllwild if you need groceries or want to visit the local shops and see Mayor Max (Which we did!) The host was always responsive and very friendly, and their guidebook answered all our questions. If you're looking at reviews and wondering whether you should book, you absolutely should. The pictures match the listing, and we couldn't have had a better time.
Beautiful and peaceful cabin and setting with a gentle stream running at the bottom of the hill by the gazebo. My husband and I brought my 2 year old daughter and she loved all the outdoor space for gathering sticks and pinecones, and we all loved the private gazebo and hammock. There are a couple other cabins nearby but you don't really notice them -- it's very quiet outside and there are a couple of wooden privacy walls that make the cabin and porch feel more enclosed.. though you still have an amazing view of the tall trees in the back. I would love to stay there again when we visit Idyllwild in the future.
We loved our stay at Idyllbrook. The Brook House was amazing and so relaxing. We spent a lot of time in there just reading and listening to nature. The cabin was clean and well furnished. There were lots of board games to play which was nice. Downtown was a 5 minute drive from the cabin and both hikes we went on were about 10 minutes from the cabin. Kelly was very responsive and had lots of great local recommendations for our stay. I would totally book this cabin again.
Great location, just a short drive from town. The home was cozy and private with a lot of great touches. The kitchen was one of the most well stocked I have seen of any Airbnb and made cooking great.
Absolutely fabulous. The cabin is beautiful and clean but thoughtfully outfitted with everything you’d need - even with kiddos/doggos. Loved everything about it. We felt okay walking on the cabin street, but not so much on the connecting street. Otherwise fantastic! Hope to go back again.

We had such a lovely stay at the Idyllbrook cabin! It was cozy, beautiful, and had so many fun features (dining nook, multiple balconies, the gazebo!, all the built in cabinetry) that made it a special space to explore and discover and turn into our “home” while we were there. Sidney was extremely helpful and proactive about an unexpected winter snowstorm , which ultimately made this trip more magical than we could have asked for. The cabin was a perfect place to nestle in and watch the snow fall and gather all around us. We played in it too! Honestly, everything felt perfect, will only say one thing that stuck out as not quite up to par- the shower pressure is low with a tiny shower head. I imagine that might be next on the list to fix, as everything else was top notch, and you can tell a lot of thought and care has gone into making the cabin a wonderful place to stay.

Absolutely amazing home and well worth the price! Check-in was super easy, and the property was incredibly private and peaceful. The location was perfect—just a short walk into town. I brought my two kids, and they had an amazing time, especially enjoying the gazebo. Everything exceeded our expectations, and we would 100% stay here again!

Kelly and team were super helpful when we had questions and also provided a guidebook with detailed instructions for rules and amenities, as well as local recommendations in town.
